Dave
Dave
Co-host
Marine, husband and dad, sober since October 2023 after thirty years of drinking every day.
Dave grew up in rural South Jersey, got legitimately drunk for the first time at thirteen, and left for Marine boot camp at Parris Island on Valentine's Day 1994. Two decades of a career in and around Washington, DC followed: good money, great trips, and drinking every single day.
Then depression and anxiety hit "like a switch being flipped." The drinking moved into the mornings. In October 2023 he lost his job on a Wednesday and checked into treatment at A Mission for Michael that Friday. He hasn't had a drink since.
He's Angie's brother-in-law, a husband and a dad. He's funny and blunt, and he says out loud what a lot of men never do. His line on rock bottom: there isn't one, only a trap door.
There is no rock bottom. There is always a trap door, leading lower. Always.
